The Walking Stick
What is a Roof Broom ?
The  Roof Broom is a patent pending telescopic wand attachment designed to be used
in conjunction with a pressure washer to clean steep pitch roofs safely from the ground.
The Roof Broom attaches to the quick coupler at the end of a telescopic wand and rolls
effortlessly up  and down the roof  surface removing those unsightly black streaks com-
monly caused by saprophytic fungi and other air borne contaminants.
What are these roof stains?
Saprophytic  fungus  arrives  and  collects  on  roofs and other exterior surfaces via air-
borne spores. Once attached to a shingled roof, this fungus begins to feed on the dead
organic  matter such as asphalt used in the manufacturing process.  As the fungus be-
gins to break down the asphalt, the ceramic granules are loosened and begin to fall off.
The  ceramic granules  are layered on top  of the roofing material  in the manufacturing
process to  protect the roofing material from  UV degradation,  and once removed,  the
roof will begin to deteriorate prematurely. Used in combination with a quality roof clean-
ing chemical, The Roof Broom an safely remove this deteriorating fungus and make an
old roof look new again.
How will it save me money?
The Roof Broom is fun to operate and delivers excellent results. Best part is you won't
have to rent  those expensive lifts or have to repel down your customers roof with those
unsafe ropes and harnesses. Get the edge on your competition by lowering your costs
and completing the job safer.  These cost savings will be passed on to the customer re-
sulting in increased sales and job referrals.
How does it work?
The Roof Broom  is  a low pressure device whose nozzles are matched with your pres-
sure washers  gpm rating to reduce your machine psi.  For best results,  apply a good
quality cleaning  chemical first using a chemical  injector nozzle.  Then, after sufficient
dwell time ( see manufacturer label for recommendation ),  attach the Roof Broom to a
telescopic wand and roll it up and down the roof surface. The wheels will gauge the dis-
tance between the nozzles and roof surface to obtain optimal cleaning efficiency. For a
quality roof cleaning chemical, ask about our all new Renew TM advanced roof and deck
cleaning formula.  Renew has been  specially formulated to clean asphalt,  cedar and fi-
berglass  shingles.  It also works great on decks,  wood fencing,  docks,  concrete and
more.  Renew  TM   features  an added  level of  surfactant to  aid it in clinging to steep
pitched roofs and vertical deck surfaces.

Use your Roof Broom from the ground or from the roof...
Use your Roof Broom  safely from the ground. The PW160 is shown here with the
36 ft. PowerWand.
Use your Roof Broom from the ridge with 1  or  2 sections of the PowerWand without
the gun section and with the Ridge Rider Adapter. The Ridge Rider Adapter routes
the internal hose to the outside of the PowerWand  sections and can be easily coiled
around the outside of the wand so  as you pull the Roof  Broom up to  you on the ridge,
you don't  have the weight of the  hose going up  past  you off setting  the weight of the
Roof Broom  When using the  Roof Broom  in this type of  application we  extremely
stress the  importance of wearing  fall protection equipment and  this  should not be at-
tempted by inexperienced roof cleaning contractors.   In the  picture  we  are using the
protection of a body harness with two life lines, one off each side of the roof and anchor-
ed securely.  This should only be used  when the roof is not reachable from the ground
or we're there is limited access to the roof from the ground due to obstacles such as in-
ground pools, adjacent buildings, etc.
Attach your Roof Broom  to the Walkin  Stick and do "walkable" roofs quickly and effic-
iently.  The Roof Broom will cut your cleaning time in half on " walkable "  roofs  as com-
pared to using just a conventional wand alone.  Shown here with the Walkin Stick.  The
Walkin Stick  consists of an open gun,  36" molded grip lance,  90 degree street elbow,
complete with QC's.  The open gun eliminates the tiresome need to hold the trigger open
on a trigger gun and the flow can be controlled by installing a QC high pressure ball valve
between the hose and gun.

50 ft. High-Strength Rope Lifeline & Reusable Roof Anchor.
Work from the ridge in comfort with The Ridge Chair pictured above. The Ridge Chair features lightweight aluminum con-
struction, solid welded supports, and auto leveling feet which adapt to any pitched roof. Ideal for homes with ridge vents!

Gravity Clean System
The Gravity Clean System shown in picture above consists of a 25 ft. hose with QC connectors, aluminum wheel brac-
kets, and trailing wheels.  The  Gravity Clean  System is designed to be mounted on the adjustable wheel brackets of
the Roof Broom and will work on all 3 models of the Roof Broom Roof Cleaning Attachment. The Gravity Clean System
is ideal for those roofs which are too steep to walk and un-assessable from the ground when using the PowerWand.
Note: When working on roofs or other elevated surfaces, you must use fall protection equipment.
Install a  Quick  Connect High Pressure  Ball Valve between your hose and gun.  This device will eliminate the tiresome
task of holding the trigger gun open on the PowerWand while working a roof.  It also facilitates the exchange of wands
and other high pressure attachments  while your equipment is running.  No more running  back and forth to  machine to
shut it off while you change wands. This is especially helpful when applying chemical with the Chem-Jet nozzle attach-
ed to a 36" lance. After applying the chemical, simply shut off the QC Ball Valve and remove the 36" lance and connect
the PowerWand for rinsing in a matter of seconds!

You can use your Roof Broom to clean other surfaces too.  Use on concrete, decks,  automobile undercarriages,  and
more. The uses of this device are unlimited. If your a roof cleaning professional, just getting started in the roof cleaning
profession, or a do-it-yourselfer, the Roof Broom is for you.
Pressure Washing
The Roof Broom is available in three sizes. Model PW160 has 4 nozzles, a spray width of 16 to 18 inches and requires
a minimum of @ 3 gpm. Model PW200 has 5 nozzles,  a spray width of 20  to 22 inches and requires a minimum of @
4 gpm. Model PW 240 has 6 nozzles,  a spray width of 24  to  26 inches and requires a minimum of @  5 gpm.  If your
equipment has a pressure actuated un-loader valve,  you may notice an initial burst of pressure that can propel the unit
upwards from the surface if not prepared for in advance. This effect is somewhat minimized if the extension wand is fully
extended and at an angle of less than 45 degrees, thus the weight of the wand will counter this effect. This effect can be
eliminated by simply installing a ball valve between your hose and extension wand then gradually opening the valve with
the trigger gun open. This will gradually release the trapped pressure between the un-loader valve and gun.  For informa-
tion ask your sales representative when placing your order.
